Spicy BBQ Sauce

  • 1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
  • 1 sweet onion, finely diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 8oz can organic tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • sea salt to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, add canola oil. Turn heat to medium low and saute onion and garlic until tender. About 5 minutes. 

2. Add remaining ingredients to sauce pan. Stir and simmer until sauce has thickened, about 30 minutes, stirring often.
