Most of these recipes will have whey protein powder included as an ingredient. I like to have my smoothies after a workout so I like them packed with protein. If that's not your thing, feel free to just remove it from the list of ingredients. If you are are looking for a substitution for the chocolate taste the protein powder has, try raw cacao powder or cacao nibs. They are rich in antioxidants. Also, try adding chia seeds and flax seeds for additional nutritional value!
